In the midst of the giant clusterf**k that is the US response to the global Coronavirus pandemic, it is easy to ignore the fact that there are a number of countries which have done a vastly better jpb,
Among the best are:
Iceland—most comprehensive testing (Katrín Jakobsdóttir)
Finland—extensive shutdowns and restrictions starting five days before the first death (Sanna Marin)
New Zealand—gov’t prepared people for possibility of total lockdown then did it, crushing the curve. (Jacinda Ardern)
Taiwan--despite exclusion from WHO, an extremely-well organized response now considered a global model (Tsai Ing-wen)
Norway—a national lockdown started on March 12 has knocked the rate of reproduction down to .7% (Erna Solberg)
Germany—120,000 cases but a well-organized public health system and extensive early testing, contact-tracing and quarantine has kept the death rate extremely low. (Angela Merkel)
Wondering about those names at the end?
They’re the heads of government in their respective countries.
And they are all women.
